Award Winning Dance Company~ CONGRATS TO OUR 2008-2009 COMPANY! WE ARE 35 MEMBERS STRONG AND GROWING! YOU MAY STILL AUDITION. CALL MICHELLE FOR YOUR PRIVATE COMPANY AUDITION 639-0660. Each year we hold auditions for our Broadway South Dance Company. Ages 6-23 are invited to audition (you do not have to be currently enrolled). We are proud to offer a healthy platform for serious select dance students to further their dance education and future. Our company students are required to take a selection of weekly classes where we focus solely on technique, not company routines, thus producing strong dancers for their growth & future. Our companies are only comprised of students wanting to expand their horizons- You won't find us stacking our competition numbers with teachers :) Due to overwhelming interest, our 2008-2009 season will be comprised of additional companies and age ranges.

2007-2008 Company Honors- Showstoppers- 2- 1st place double platinums, 2&3rd overall 8y and under, Platinum and 5th overall 9-11y, 5th overall Trios 9-11y(We took solos and duos/trios).West Coast Dance Explosion-Mini Gold 1st Place, Junior Overall High Score Extended Line, Gold Teen Group Jazz and 1st place Gold Teen Group Hip Hop. Savanna Brewer, Emily Summey, and Jamayca Broughton earned scholarships and Kati Weis was a scholarship finalist. Shock The Intensive in September- Congrats to Award Winners Emily Summey (Mini division) and Savanna Brewer (Junior Division). New York City Dance Alliance- Outstanding Jazz for Juniors, Outstanding Jazz for Teens, Overall Outstanding Showmanship Teens, 4 First Place Golds, and Special Outstanding Movement Quality. Stage One- 2 overall High Score First Place, 5 First place, 3rd overall High Score Petites, 10th overall High Score Juniors. Masquerade- Emily Summey- Parade of Stars, Judges Special Award Outstanding Duo, 3rd overall Teen Elite Group, 4 High Golds (94 out of 100)& Petite Photogenic-Meah Dixon. NUVO- Placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall high score mini solo, 2nd overall mini duo, 3rd overall junior trio, 3rd overall junior solo, and high score teen/sr. musical theatre.We were also awarded "Stand Out" scholarships to Emily Summey, Meah Dixon, Delanie Smith, Savanna Brewer, and Brooke Whigham.

Just now in our second year, Broadway South is becoming rapidly known as the studio and company for individualized attention and focus on technique. Our Company is headed by Michelle Adams-Meeker. She has appeared in television, film, commercials,theatre, and concert dance works. She has assisted New York's top dance teachers and Tony Award nominated choreographers. Michelle also was hand selected for the "Fosse" pre-broadway workshops where she worked for 3 years.Additional credits include Knicks Dancer for NY Knicks basketball team,MTV Music Video Awards, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with Ben Vereen and Debbie Allen ABC TV Special where she was a featured dancer. Michelle also appeared at Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Opera. She also holds a BFA from the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts where she graduated in 3 years on academic and talent scholarships. Michelle was featured in the national magazine "Dance Studio Life" Jan. 2008 in the Teacher Spotlight! Broadway South Dance has also been featured in the internationally published "Dance Magazine". In addition to her wide spanning dance career, she holds a World Baton Title, numerous pageant titles, and is a Presidential Scholar in the Arts Award Winner. Michelle knows first hand what it takes to make it as a dance professional in this industry. Let her knowledge and expertise help shape your dancer's future! We are also proud to welcome the talented Glen Jenkins to our company staff & faculty beginning summer 2008. Mr. Glen will teach Advanced lyrical,contemporary, progressions and voice. Additonal 2008-2009 company staff members include Wendy Horton-Hardwick,Kerrie Benson, Amanda Shiver,and Hartley Long. We also bring in several outside wonderful industry professionals for workshops through Michelle's extensive industry contacts.
